Work out what you are entitled to
Five free tools covering the questions we are asked most often. They run entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to us, nothing is stored, and you do not need to give any personal details to use them.
The calculators
Four calculators and a letter builder, all applying the published 2026/27 rules. They are estimates, not decisions — but they are accurate enough to tell you whether a claim is worth pursuing.
PIP points calculator
Work through all 12 PIP activities and score yourself against every descriptor. Shows your daily living and mobility totals, whether you reach the 8-point and 12-point thresholds, and the weekly, four-weekly and annual value of the award you would receive.
Score your PIP claim →PIP backpay calculator
Calculate arrears on a successful PIP claim, including the three-month qualifying period, the rate change on 6 April each year, and awards spanning multiple uprating years. The correct rate is applied to each period separately.
Work out your arrears →Universal Credit calculator
Estimate a monthly UC award from your circumstances — couple or single, children, housing costs, health, caring responsibilities and earnings. Applies the standard allowance, elements, work allowance and the 55% taper.
Estimate your UC →Benefits eligibility checker
Six questions to narrow down which benefits apply to your household. Returns a ranked list of the benefits most likely to apply, with the pages that explain each one and any immigration restrictions flagged.
Find out what you can claim →Mandatory reconsideration letter builder
Not a calculator — a drafting tool. Enter the decision date and what the report got wrong, and it produces a structured challenge letter that argues the descriptors and quotes the reliability test, with your one-month deadline worked out.
Build your letter →How these are built
Each calculator applies the published rules and rates for the 2026/27 year, using the figures the DWP and HMRC have published. Where an award spans an April uprating, the correct rate is applied to each period separately rather than to the whole period at one rate — that is where most third-party backpay calculators go wrong.
Nothing is collected
Everything runs in your browser. No data is submitted, stored or logged. You can use the calculators without entering any identifying information.
Current rates
2026/27 figures, including the 3.8% uprating applied from 6 April 2026 across PIP and UC, and the historical uprating years for backpay.
Estimates, not decisions
Only the DWP can decide a claim. These tools give you a realistic picture of where you stand, which is what you need to decide whether to proceed.
Results differ from your award notice? That is worth investigating. We regularly find that an award has been calculated on the wrong descriptor, the wrong start date, or with a missing element. Bring your decision letter to a consultation and we will check it against the rules.
Calculator says you should be getting more?
That is the point at which it becomes worth acting. We can review the decision, file the challenge, and represent you at tribunal.
